An infographic is the latest technological tool for communicating statistical information in an easy-to-understand display. A combination of software and traditional charts or graphs, an infographic tells a complex story in a glance.

One of the latest websites to make use of this tool is the Mesothelioma Cancer Blog. In a graphic that reveals a wealth of information about alternative healing techniques, the blog summarizes results of recent studies and surveys about the use of acupuncture, Reiki, massage, and reflexology in the treatment of cancer patients.

The infographic shows that energy treatments reduced the symptoms of cancer and the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation:

• Half an hour of reflexology significantly reduced anxiety in breast and lung cancer patients.

Cancer is the leading cause of death in people between the ages of 35 and 64. It is the second leading cause of death in people over 65. In 2011, 1.6 million individuals found out they had cancer, and 572,000 people died of the disease. Holistic medicine evidently helps people to feel better and to live healthier lives.
